My YouTube Journey
Hey Magical Ponies of the universe! I wrote up this summary to recap my YouTube journey. It still continues today...
♡ LPSlover Origins ♡
Once upon a time... there was me. I loved to make Littlest Pet Shop videos with my Mac's webcam. I made all sorts of things! Including, the "Spoiled Princess", "The Haunted House", and many other videos found on LPSlover or LPSkool. Lots of the videos I made back then are lost. My little sister Elena created a YouTube account secretly behind my dad's back and started putting on all these slide show videos. Back then I had just finished the original "The Haunted House" in the basement while my mom was doing Piano lessons. I asked my little sister if I could put it on her account and she said yes. It was a HIT. Elena's account was becoming so famous that it was overwhelming. And it was all because of my video. I was so happy, but annoyed with people saying that my sister was so great when it was me who had made the video. Eventually, my other sister got so angry at Elena that as punishment, she closed Elena's account. I cried a lot back then.. and begged my dad for my own YT account so I could put "The Haunted House" back up.
So, why did I join YouTube? I joined YouTube on August 5th, 2007. I was so excited. I loved playing with my LPS and now I would be able to share my stories with others for the first time. I had asked for months for a YouTube account and my dad always said no. Too dangerous, he said. But, he let me make videos for his YouTube account, and that was good enough for me. Finally, on August 5th I made LPSlover. Why the heck did I call myself LPSlover? Well, since I was going to make lps videos with this account, I thought I should have littlest pet shop in the title. Littlestpetshoplover was too long so I abbreviated it. Thus, I created LPSlover. I'm also a fanatic about capitalization so I had to capitalize "LPS". I created LPSkool as a backup and fun one shot music video account, and created MilkywayMaggie for my puppet videos since I'm also a puppeteer.

Littlest Pet Shops...?
Yes Littlest Pet Shop toys!!! And now you ask, how did you get into them? A while ago, my sister Amanda brought home two little demented looking bobble-headed dog toys. She told me that some random girl had given them to her saying she didn't want them anymore. At first, I did not care for LPS. Not at all. I thought they were stupid and downright demented. Then one day I decided that I did like them. I remember going to Walmart with my mom and my two sisters... We ran down to the toys aisle and we grabbed our very first lps sets. My first lps were a birthday party set that came with a calico cat, grey mouse, and bulldog, then a separate "hurt kitty" set as I called it. (A yellow cat with green eyes that came with a purse) These lps might seem foreign to most, but I was a very early collector. I played so much with those lps. I used to pretend that they dressed up and had to escape some evil guy so they could live happily ever after. I also remember playing with the yellow cat as if she had super powers to heal others with her purse. Time wore on, and I collected TONS of lps. The stories grew richer and more in depth, and the characters took minds of their own. I distinctly remember tucking in each lps in a little bed I had made for them out of toilet paper. I housed them in the Medical Center and talked to them.. those were good times. I wish I had time to tuck in all of my lps, but then I'd NEVER go to sleep! xD Besides all that, I chose lps because I loved them and had lots of characters to use for my stories.
Sparking Productions
I came up with Sparking Productions a long time ago. In fact, I don't even know when. I guess it's always been in my mind. I named Sparky after Sparking Productions and he became the director of these videos.
History of the Videos
In about September of 2007, I started filming "My Beloved Monster", my first littlest pet shop music video ever. It was a song that I liked that was on my dad's computer at the time so I decided to use it. It was lots of fun to make. I used a sock creature I had made the previous Thanksgiving to play the beloved monster. It was the story of Benjamin Biscuit, my lps chinchilla and his love interest Mozzarella the monster. I remember sitting on the swings thinking in my head: "Wowie!!! I can't wait to go home and see if someone commented!!"
A bit later I started "Mad World" I first tried filming it in one shot, all of the lps I was using lined up by their role in the song. I had the music playing in the background, and was ready to go. It didn't work like I expected it too, so I quit. Then my dad showed me that I could film it in parts like "My Beloved Monster" by the Eels and string it all together at the end. I was so excited. I thought everyone was going to love it and go crazy over it. I posted it and it got a pretty minimal response. It didn't dampen my enthusiasm one bit back then. I continued on to make two other music videos at the time: "Mad World" covered by Gary Jules and "Sounds Like a Melody" by Alphaville.
I went on to make "Kat Kong", my first ever series on YT. I made it with Amanda, my sister. It was so much fun. We loved the story, except she didn't like how she had to make kissing sounds at Coral and Peter's wedding. I thought it was cute so I had to put it in.
That October, I started putting in new sound effects that I found on the Mac's editing system for "The Haunted House" remake. I posted the video soon after and got a whole bunch of feed back telling me that I had copied MYSELF which made me super mad. Plus, they criticized me about the sound effects. Sure it got me mad, but life goes on. People started copying me more and more on "The Haunted House" and sadly, people keep doing it today.
I made other videos after "The Haunted House" but they were removed due to copyright later so I could become a YT partner. People continued to press me for a sequel to the classic "The Haunted House" so I made one. It turned out to be a hit, but not nearly as big as the first one.
From there I made more videos that were also removed because of copyright. Soon it was time to go on a vacation to Idaho Hot Springs with my family. I decided to bring my camera and film a random story that I'd come up with there. At that time I barely bought two new sets, a camping set and a obstacle course set. Thus, "Over Come Your Fears" was born. It's a fun series about a fox named Loxie who has a crush on a guy named Al, and her phobia of deer which she overcomes on a camping trip. I filmed the whole thing in the tiny old fashioned hotel room we were staying at in Idaho Hot Springs. It still reminds me of that trip and all of the fun I had there...
When I came home from vacation, I filmed my first littlest pet shop commercial "The Hypertube". It's a random advertisement for a vacuum tube that can carry your stuff. After that, I did more videos that were removed later.
One day I wanted to make something super random so I made up the interactive video "Flo the Fortune Fish". It was lots of fun to make and people really seemed to like it.
The "Halloween" series came out that same year. I started making headstones and setting up the graveyard preparing it for filming. It was a story I always wanted to tell, but I never got around to it till then. "Halloween" was removed due to copyright content but can be viewed on my other channel, LPSkool.
Time passed, and I finally made "The Haunted House 3". It was a hit! Another great and final addition to the series.
That Christmas was the best Christmas ever. Our family received a HD Sony handy cam, and the Sony Vegas editing system. I was really surprised and shocked. I made an Updates video showing off some of my newer lps and introduced the new camera. I realized then that I'd finally be able to make the really awesome movies that I had always dreamed of.
I filmed the spoof trailer, "RATS" for fun one day but it turned out to be a hit. People kept asking for me and I said, okay I'll make it into a movie sometime.
I continued movie making with the ACSI: LPS (ACSI stands for Animal Crime Investigation) I made episodes all the way up to ACSI: LPS Trouble at Coco's Part 3. Then, I came up with an idea for a brand new series...
While I was watching "Edward Scissorhands", I came up with the idea for Grave Matters. Grave Matters started out being about a goth girl who fell in love with the angel of death. Now, Grave Matters is totally different, but about that same story line.
Ivy Hemlock got me thinking about an orange beagle that I had in my lps box. "Maybe I could do something with her....?" I thought. So eventually I decided that I would make a paranormal hunters but decided that I wanted the orange dog to be weird. Vampire.. and half werewolf. Oh yeah! Another series I came up with was about an alien with 3 souls. I decided to combine the two, and WALLAH! Strange Happenings was born.
I then reached 3,000 subscribers and decided to make a video about it with my director, Sparky Bolt and his "dream girlfriend" Risa. Then, the 4,000 subscriber video came around with a blooper reel that went crazy. That blooper reel is currently my most viewed video with over 2 million hits!
My family goes to Oregon every year, so I decided to create an Oregon Vlog with Sparky and Risa. I film Oregon Vlogs pretty much every year I go now. Valentine, Chester, and Theo joined over time and are now a part of the Oregon Vlog gang.
One day, I was thinking about all of my fans and all of the things happening in my life. I then came up with the idea for Kandy TV, a series for updates and randomness. The first episode was uploaded on October 10th, 2011 and announced that I had started a P.O. box! People wanted me to interview Trinity, so I did, and continued to interview other stars of LPSlover. Over the years that the P.O. box was open, I received 9 full boxes of fan mail. The P.O. box was closed due to how much mail was sent in.
January 22nd, 2016, was the day I started a relationship with my irl boyfriend James! Later that same year in Kandy TV #13, James was introduced as Jae the lion. I have never had a boyfriend appear on LPSlover before. James is a big support and loves the series. His favorite series of mine is Grave Matters.
The "LPSlover Stop Motion: Fan Mail Extravaganza!" was my first full length stop motion animation video to come to the channel. It took a tremendous amount of effort and the assistance of James as a fellow stop animator to finish the project. The music video showcases letters from magical ponies from around the world!
2019 was a big year for LPSlover shorts. "Rest in Pepperoni", "The Psychic Pigs", "Abracadaver", and "The Underground Kingdom" emerged. These shorts delved deeper into stories of characters who appear as cameos in other series, thus expanding the lore of Willow Grove.
Keep This Channel Alive came out announcing the launch of the LPSlover Patreon.
The first installment of LPSlover Fan Fridays premiered on September 20th, 2019. On the show, the Patron's Segment (voted by LPSlover patrons) is at the beginning of each episode. Then characters open leftover fan mail from the P.O. box and fan art following a specific topic is featured at the end.
I opened the LPSlover Magical Ponies Discord server on June 1st, 2020 and opened it to the public on July 7th, 2020!
HOBO MEETS GOD marked a new era for LPSlover. The first uncensored cuss word, "damn", was said by Kandy. It's also interesting to note that damn was the first cuss word in movie history. "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." -Gone With the Wind. It was also the first time that I've used green screen in the videos. I also presented a lot of deep LPSlover lore and existential issues.
On October 31st, 2020, Jae and I got married under the full blue moon!
The LPSlover channel turned 15 years old on August 5th, 2022! Time sure does fly by!
Kandy's True Form brought a big change for the channel- my NEW LPS mascot! It was a change I had wanted to make for years and then it finally happened on October 28th 2022, huzzah! Kandy is no longer a brown dog with green eyes, she is now a black and white angora cat with lavender eyes! This video was the first time the word f**k was said uncensored on the channel, which was said by the Kandy who does not give an F! It was a big step in going forward with the intent to be less censored and more free to do what I want in future videos.
On 12/31/22-1/1/23, I began my first live stream as my Vtuber avatar, Kandy! From this point, I began streaming weekly.
Unboxing: The LPSlover Way was revived onto LPSlover January 12th, 2024. Basic Fun! included me in there product launch of the G7 LPS by sending me all of the Wave 1 Blind Box Pets. The first set of the Unboxing: The LPSlover Way series was previously uploaded to LPSkool (my second channel). Unboxing: The LPSlover Way is back to cover my journey of unboxing and collecting the Basic Fun! G7 LPS. The series will also serve as a vehicle to unbox old generations of LPS as well in the future.
I am currently working on many new and old series. Stick around so you don't miss a thing! Check back on this history write-up for updates.
*Lots of videos are missing from this history write-up because they were removed due to copyright reasons.
